FHWien der WKW is Austria’s leading university of applied sciences for management and communication. Working in close contact with Austrian corporations, FHWien der WKW offers comprehensive and practice-oriented academic programs to over 2,800 students.

Two thirds of our teaching staff have a background in business. Our programs are tailored to the needs of companies, optimally preparing our graduates – over 15,100 to date – for their future careers. FHWien der WKW works closely with businesses on numerous projects. Our students must complete an internship, which helps them to put their acquired knowledge into practice.

Our Study Programs

We currently offer practice-oriented Bachelor’s and Master’s programs. The majority of the Bachelor’s programs are available either part-time or full-time, while all Master’s programs are offered on a part-time basis.

Our portfolio also includes continuing education programs. These programs allow people with professional experience to gain an academic degree (BA (CE), MA (CE), MSc, MBA) or to complete the continuing education program as an Academic Expert.

Vienna’s central location in the heart of Europe is also perfect for excursions to neighboring countries and cities such as Bratislava, Budapest or Prague.

Who is FHWien der WKW?

FHWien der WKW is Austria’s leading university of applied sciences for management and communication. Its Bachelor’s and Master’s programs offer around 2,900 students a practical academic education. What are the advantages of studying at a university of applied sciences compared to a traditional university?

Studying at a university of applied sciences offers many advantages over studying at a traditional university:

  1. High practical relevance: practical projects in small groups, excursions, field trips, lecturers with practical experience, professional internships and much more.
  2. Optimal compatibility with work, family, friends and leisure time: various study formats (full-time, part-time, dual) – suitable for every life situation
  3. Fixed “classes” (cohorts) with a maximum of 35–40 people: no overcrowded lecture halls and no competition for seminar places
  4. Good organization: fixed timetables and exam dates for better planning
  5. Internationality: mandatory semester abroad in full-time study programs, three English-language study programs
  6. Sustainability & digitalization: important trend topics such as sustainability, digital transformation, and AI are anchored in the curricula

Which admission requirements do I need to meet?

To complete a Bachelor’s degree at FHWien der WKW, you must have a “allgemeine Hochschulreife”. The exact admission requirements can be found here.
