June 17, 2020

The university of applied sciences achieves a top position in the category “Contact to work environment” in the renowned university ranking and convinces with its regional engagement.

Vienna, June 17, 2020 FHWien der WKW is delighted with its excellent performance in the international university ranking U-Multirank. This year, the university of applied sciences specializing in management and communication made it into the top twenty-five in the category “Contact to Work Environment” among almost 1,800 universities worldwide that took part in the latest edition of the ranking initiated by the European Commission.

Impressive confirmation of the high level of practical relevance

By being accepted into the exclusive circle of the “top 25 performing universities” in the category “Contact to Work Environment”, U-Multirank provides FHWien der WKW WKW with an excellent testimony to its high practical relevance. “This top position in an independent ranking proves that we keep our promise to prepare our students for the working world in the best possible way”, says Michael Heritsch, CEO of FHWien der WKW. “Our university of applied sciences has been cooperating closely with established companies for many years. In numerous practical projects for these companies, students establish contacts with potential employers during their education, which makes it easier for them to start their careers”, Heritsch adds. When introducing new study programs, FHWien der WKW always has the needs of the economy in mind.

Top-trained specialists and managers for Vienna’s economy

As university of applied sciences of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, it is part of FHWien der WKW’s mission to train highly qualified specialists and executives for Vienna as a business location and thereby strengthen its competitiveness. The fact that this plan is working and that many alumni contribute their application-oriented knowledge from their studies to Viennese companies is proven by the good marks FHWien der WKW received for its “regional engagement”, one of the five main dimensions of U-Multirank. Here, the university of applied sciences ranks among the top 100 universities worldwide. The decisive factor is that an above-average number of Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates find their first job in the Vienna region after graduation.
