Sustainable online presenting and reasoning

January 12, 2021

Responsible Management Education is an important part of the curricula at FHWien der WKW, the Social Skills 1 module from the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication is one example.

Full-time and part-time students from the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication use an innovative presentation technique to raise awareness for selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as part of the module “Social Skills 1”.

In order to be able to achieve a strong and lasting impression in a short period of time, the students selected the Pecha Kucha technique for their online presentations. Characteristically, merely 20 (picture-only) slides are used for this method, with a display duration of only 20 seconds each. Thus, it is important to use congruent and focused verbal and visual input that develops a clear story line that actually affects the audience. The students mastered this remarkably difficult task terrifically, creating inspiring and emotionally touching online presentations.

Congratulations for this outstanding accomplishment from the team of lecturers: Mag.a Gabriele Zeiner, Mag.a Bettina Eibler and FH-Prof. Mag. Dr. Gerald Kolar.

This is another step towards raising increased awareness for the SDGs within academic teaching.
