Social skills for a creative staging in the hybrid work environment

February 14, 2023

In times of New Work, the Competence Center for Leadership & Social Skills also focuses on professional and creative online staging in the module “Social Skills 1”.

Already the first semester of the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication, communicative skills such as presentation techniques, rhetoric, argumentation and body language are trained and developed in the module “Social Skills 1”. To build up skills in a hybrid work environment, the team at the Competence Center for Leadership & Social Skills also focuses, among other things, on professional online presentation of the content.

At the end of the winter semester 2022/23, the first-year students demonstrated the know-how they had acquired at the final event. Through storytelling as well as using creative media changes and panel discussion settings, the future communications generalists enriched their presentations. The diverse topics ranged from social media platforms and innovative apps to specific hygiene products, clothing, natural and care products, and the sustainable use of food.

Creative handouts for all senses

At the final presentations, the students scored not only with excellent presentations, but also with particularly creative handout designs as well as exclusively compiled product baskets! In this way, not only the visual, but also the haptic senses of the audience were stimulated.

The evening was led by a creative and humorous team of moderators chosen by the students. In the subsequent discussion with the jury members, all groups demonstrated argumentative agility. The acquisition of skills in the areas of presentation techniques, rhetoric and body language was thus impressively and successfully demonstrated by the students. These are the ideal prerequisites for the upcoming practical projects!
