As of January 11, 2022, you can apply for the study programs at FHWien der WKW starting in fall 2022. The application deadline is April 4, 2022. For applicants with final documents from a third country, the application period ends on March 14, 2022.
You will receive your personal login data via e-mail once you have registered. With the login data, you will have access to our online application form. This form should be printed out once you have filled it out.
You will need various copies of documents as well as your printed and signed application form. You can find out which documents you need in the checklist for Master’s students.
Applicants with a foreign degree must have their documents translated into German or English by a court certified translator. Please respect the relevant rules of certification for your country. Determining the equivalence of certificates/degrees from foreign countries can take up to three weeks. For this reason we recommend that you send in the relevant documentation in a timely manner.
Together with a printout of the application form, all application documents (loose, not stuck together in any way) should be sent by mail to:
FHWien der WKW
Währinger Gürtel 97
The postmark is used as proof of the date of mailing.
The computer-based admissions test will take place online. Therefore, you do not need to come to FHWien der WKW. As soon as we have received all your application documents in full, you will receive an e-mail asking you to log in and choose a date for the general business knowledge test and the subject-specific knowledge test.
The test is in multiple-choice form and evaluates your existing business and subject-specific knowledge.
We recommend the following literature as a guide for preparing for the general business knowledge test, depending on your prior business knowledge:
- Thommen, Jean-Paul / Achleitner, Ann-Kristin: Allgemeine Betriebswirtschaftslehre or
- Kreuzer, Christian: BWL kompakt – Die 100 wichtigsten Themen der Betriebswirtschaft für Praktiker
To prepare for the subject-specific part, we recommend the following literature:
- i2b Das Handbuch – Gründen mit Konzept: The book is available free of charge from the start-up services of the chambers of commerce and the start-up centers of Erste Bank and Sparkassen. (https://www.gruenderservice.at/site/gruenderservice/planung/i2b_Businessplan-Initiative.html)
Since we want to know what potential you have, the computer-based test contains a number of questions that are not easy to answer. Please do not be discouraged by this! This will give us a more accurate picture of your potential and talents.
Seize the opportunity to show us what potential and strengths you already have!
Degree program specific admissions procedure
After successfully completing the computer-based admissions test, your CV will be analyzed. This will assess the extent to which your work experience enables you to identify the opportunities and challenges for digital innovation in a specific function or industry.
Finally, you will be invited to a group interview focusing on your interest in the use of digital technology. The group interview will take place online to give you a feel for a typical Master’s program learning setting. In this setting, you will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the program.
