Successful pitch day for the best sustainability campaigns

The Sustainable Finance start-up “birds of trust” and FHWien der WKW commissioned the full-time students of the bachelor’s degree program in Communication Management to design awareness campaigns for more sustainability in everyday life.

In the business field project of the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication (6th semester), the topic of sustainable action was clearly brought into focus. While one half of the students designed communication concepts for the sustainable finance start-up birds of trust, the other half created awareness campaigns for FHWien der WKW.

Sustainable investing in the right way!

The comparison platform for sustainable financial products birds of trust enables consumers to make responsible financial decisions. The task of the first three student teams was to create a comprehensive communication concept that would reach as many people as possible, educate them and draw their attention to the comparison portal. The initial focus was on sustainable current and savings accounts. The students came up with the right mix of creativity, humor and information and  impressive concepts.

Start-up founder Heidrun Kopp was enthusiastic about the fresh ideas and emphasized:

“I am impressed with the outcome of the ideas and creativity, as well as the measures how to implement the plans into practice. It was generally a pleasure to see how the students handled this completely new topic professionally.”

Sustainability initiatives for FHWien der WKW

The remaining three student teams were faced with the exciting task of developing a communication campaign to raise awareness of FHWien der WKW’s sustainability initiatives. In the process, they made one thing clear: sustainability means more than just separating waste! For them, a long-term, future-oriented mindset was crucial. The focus was: Sustainable business practices protect the planet and advance careers!

The final concepts also convinced client Bernhard Witzeling, Head of Corporate Communications at FHWien der WKW:

“I have seen a lot of concepts with different perspectives by now. The students really did a great job here, my expectations were definitely exceeded!”

The first proposed measures will soon be put into practice!
