Scoring with online presentation skills and individual presence

February 16, 2022

At the end of their first semester, the students from the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication introduced their concluding presentations in the lecture “Social Skills 1”.

Comprehensive training in the area of social skills is an essential component of the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication. In the first semester, communicative skills such as presentation techniques, rhetoric, argumentation and body language are already trained and developed in the lecture “Social Skills 1”. In times of online meetings and digital media, the team from the Competence Center for Leadership & Social Skills puts a clear focus on a professional online presentation.

In the final event at the end of January, the first-year students put the know-how they had acquired to the test. The future communication generalists enriched their presentations in online format by the means of storytelling and the use of creative media changes, such as their own video sequences. The diverse topics ranged from Metaverse and fitness apps to specific hygiene products and the sustainable use of food and clothing.

The evening was led by a creative and humorous team of moderators chosen by the students. In the subsequent discussion with the jury members, all groups showed argumentative agility. The acquisition of skills in the areas of presentation techniques, rhetoric and body language was thus impressively and successfully demonstrated online by the students. These are the ideal prerequisites for the upcoming business field projects.

Congratulations from the lecturer team of the Competence Center for Leadership & Social Skills: Gabriele Zeiner, Bettina Eibler and Gerald Kolar, and best wishes for the new semester!
