After two years of pandemic, the world’s largest organizational science conference took place “live” in Vienna from July 7-9, 2022 – the EGOS Colloquium.

Ann-Christine Schulz from the Institute for Digital Transformation and Strategy (IDS) at FHWien der WKW, together with Martin Gersch (FU Berlin) and Wolfgang H. Güttel (TU Vienna), presented a sub-theme at EGOS on “ORGACHINES?!!! – Organizational Decision-making and Machine Algorithms”.

Over three days, the panel included over 30 participants discussing scientific papers on how AI and organizations relate to each other. The conclusion is that there is already diverse and exciting research in this topic area, but also that many questions remain unanswered. As the use of technology in organizations increases, there will continue to be many interesting opportunities in the future.
