Well attended: Course series “Current Topics in Human Resources Management”

December 10, 2019

Which innovations are there in apprenticeship training? How can “New Work” work in everyday life? How will the labour market develop in the upcoming years? What possibilities do companies have to react to bad employer ratings? These and many other questions were investigated and discussed by and with our experts from business in our course series “Current Topics” in the Bachelor’s degree program in Human Resources Management.

Margit Kreuzhuber gives an outlook on the developments on the labour market.

Exciting discussions, interesting insights and many valuable tips were provided for our 5th semester students this winter semester in the course series “Current Topics in Personnel Management”.

Erich Huber from the area of professional qualification management at WKO made the beginning. He explained the most important contents and innovations of the “Apprenticeship Training System in Austria” to our students. All participating students also have the opportunity to be certified as apprentice trainers at a later date.

New this year was Astrid Lassner, Head of HR, DACH, at the Paysafe Group. After a theoretical introduction to “New Work” Mrs. Lassner described her experiences on this topic. What opportunities and challenges can arise in everyday work? How can implementation be accompanied well? Our students asked good questions and shared their own examples.

On the third evening, we had the pleasure to welcome Margit Kreuzhuber, Commissioner for Migration and Integration at WKO, on the topic “Migration and Labor Market“. Among other things, she presented the “WKO Fachkräfteradar”, a radar survey of the shortage of skilled workers. The outlook for the future development of the labor market raised many interesting questions.

Allard van der Veen, Medina Delic and Bernhard Laber from kununu GmbH concluded the event with the topic “Employer evaluations“.  The three-person team vividly reported on the opportunities the kununu platform offers both for employees and companies. This was an exciting topic on which our students discussed the advantages and disadvantages of employer evaluations with experts.
