Successfully addressing target groups with social media recruiting

November 2, 2021

In an interactive guest lecture, digital recruitment strategist Davorin Barudzija explains to our students in the Master’s program Organizational & Human Resources Development how to create job ads on social media platforms and which tricks can be used to reach the target audience more easily.

In times of a shortage of skilled workers, creativity is needed when searching for employees. A good way to reach the target group is to run job ads and post recruiting videos via social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, for example. Davorin Barudzija, BSc, founder of This is Recruitment and digital recruitment strategist, shows our students  how to do this during the course “Human Resource Management”.

After a short part of theoretical input and an analysis of less successful and very successful examples, our students got to work: In short practice sessions, they tried their hand at copywriting and received immediate feedback and suggestions for improvement. The AIDA principle (Attention-Interest-Desire-Action) from marketing served as a starting point. The use of emojis, which play an important role in social media recruiting, was also practiced. A big advantage of using social media platforms for recruiting is that not only active searchers but also passive searchers can be reached.

Many thanks to Davorin Barudzija for the varied guest lecture and all the practical tips!
