With her presentation about “Media Literacy in Knowledge Societies: The Relevance of Public Service Media”, Gisela Reiter from the Department of Communication has digitally participated in the 14th International Week in Portugal.
With (online) lectures from Austria, Belgium, Colombia, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain and the USA, the 14th International Week was able to present a broad, international spectrum of speakers. The annual event organised by the Universidade Europeia, IADE and IPAM in Lisbon was one of the first major events to be cancelled or postponed at the beginning of March due to Corona. Participation was encouraged and financially supported within the framework of the Erasmus+ funding for Staff Teaching Mobility. Events of this kind make an important contribution to expanding and intensifying contacts with international partner institutions in the spirit of internationalization at FHWien der WKW.
In her lecture, Gisela Reiter also made reference to the changed media usage behavior during the Corona crisis in Austria and extended the original lecture by these current developments.
