As part of the “Microeconomics of Competitiveness Course”, students at the Master’s Program Executive Management had the opportunity to work intensively with FHWien der WKW’s Bloomberg Terminals, gaining valuable practical experience. This system is one of the leading programs for financial information, market analysis, and business news.
The platform provides users with access to real-time information, such as company and economic data, and is used internationally in the financial sector, in companies, by public authorities, and in research.
In the Microeconomics of Competitiveness course, a case study was expanded through the use of Bloomberg Terminals. After an introduction to the central functions of the system, the students worked in teams to research data and information on specific tasks. This gave them practical insights into Bloomberg’s extensive research and analysis tools. It was particularly valuable that relevant data was immediately available and could be directly incorporated into the discussion of the case study.
By using Bloomberg Terminals, students gain realistic access to professional databases and analysis tools — skills that are of great importance both in their studies and in their future careers.
