Into camping vacation in the business field project with the Austrian Camping Club

July 7, 2022

In a business field project with the Austrian Camping Club, the part-time students of the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication created communication concepts to reach a new target group in the summer semester of 2022.

With over 13,000 members and over 30,000 readers of the magazine “Camping Revue”, the Austrian Camping Club (ÖCC) is the largest camper interest group in Austria. While the main target group of Austrian campers has so far been people aged 50+, camping vacations are enjoying an ever-increasing interest among younger people. The Austrian Camping Club (ÖCC) entrusted the task of reaching this new target group with suitable campaigns and especially via digital channels to the part-time students of the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication at FHWien der WKW. The student teams convinced with detailed and cross-channel communication concepts for the acquisition of new club members, ranging from analysis to strategy, message and measures to budgeting.

With a professional pitch in front of the clients ÖCC President Tomas Mehlmauer, and Michael Szemes, Product Manager, they convinced with their already advanced know-how and a high degree of creativity:

“Over the past few months, a total of five teams have been working on communication concepts. Five teams, five different concepts on how to achieve the desired goals. We are very pleased with the results and can now draw from a treasure chest full of new ideas.”

Also from the side of the lecturers Martina Zöbl and Ute Greutter the cooperation was a complete success:

“It is very impressive for us how professionally the individual teams have proceeded. There’s no better way to learn about practice than in a business field project!”
