How do I actually sound – and how do I want to sound?
Language and voice are deeply personal. They shape how we are perceived and make every appearance unique. Under the guidance of media trainer Sylvia Reim, members of the Excellence Club explored their individual voices and learned how breathing, posture and expression work together to create presence and impact.
In almost every profession, it is essential to speak and present with confidence. This is especially true in communication fields such as journalism, marketing or public relations. Numerous studies show that those who communicate more effectively are demonstrably more successful in their careers. Finding the right tone captures full attention – and ensures that one is truly heard.
Learning to Speak Means Learning to Make an Impact
In the Speech and Presentation Workshop, members of the Excellence Club received hands-on training in how to use their voices effectively. The program covered pronunciation rules for Austrian Standard German, as well as correct articulation, tone production and support, resonance and vocal placement. Participants also worked on breathing techniques, intonation, emphasis, pauses, pace, rhythm and melody.
Key topics included managing stage fright, researching topics for spontaneous speeches, formulating clear messages and applying storytelling techniques for persuasive presentations. Through speech exercises, short lectures and individual feedback, the acquired skills became tangible and directly applicable.
The workshop gave participants the opportunity to reflect on their personal presence and to enhance it through practice, professional feedback and fresh inspiration for everyday communication.
