FHWien der WKW honors outstanding young journalism talents. The award ceremony will take place on September 29, 2025.
Vienna, September 16, 2025 – With the Journalism Young Talent Award, FHWien der WKW supports aspiring journalists at the beginning of their careers and offers them a platform to present themselves to the industry and a wider audience. The award recognizes outstanding works created during a journalism education in Austria. It is presented this year for the seventh time by the Journalism & Media Management study programs of the university of applied sciences.
The Journalism Young Talent Award is endowed with €500 in each category and is awarded with the kind support of Der Standard, Kurier, and ORF.
The award is presented in four categories:
- Radio & Audio
- TV & Video
- Text (sponsored by Der Standard)
- Multimedia (sponsored by Kurier)
In addition, FHWien der WKW awards a special prize of €500 in the category “Best Final Thesis” among all participants. Furthermore, the Austrian Media Academy (ÖMA) will provide the winner with a place in one of its seminars.
All submitted works will be evaluated by an expert jury consisting of two representatives from the industry per category, as well as the respective experts at FHWien der WKW.
The winners of the Journalism Young Talent Award 2025 will be announced at the award ceremony on Monday, September 29, 2025 starting at 6:00 p.m. at FHWien der WKW.
