As part of the lecture “Product Assessment and Product Development in the Context of an Urban DMO: The Case of Food Tourism in Vienna,” our Master’s students of the Master’s Program in Urban Tourism & Visitor Economy Management visited the BO-Yo chocolate museum in Vienna together with Prof. Dimitris Koutoulas.
The aim of this practical course is to analyze culinary tourism offerings in other cities and regions and compare them with those in Vienna. The goal is to develop concepts for product development and marketing strategies.
The excursion enabled students to learn about innovative food experiences and to experience the interplay of product development and destination marketing directly on site.
Prof. Koutoulas is a renowned expert in culinary tourism, teaches at the University of Patras in Greece, among other places, and enriches the course with international best practices.
