As part of Real Estate Intensive Vienna 2025, students from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) visited Vienna and its real estate market. The two-day intensive program offered practical insights into the Viennese real estate market, combined with exciting excursions and specialist lectures by leading industry representatives. And, of course, networking and exchanges with students from FHWien der WKW were also part of the program.
Diverse program with an international focus
After a joint kick-off and welcome speeches by Klemens Braunisch and Carmen Dilch, program directors of the Real Estate Management Program at FHWien der WKW, and Michael Trübestein and Matthias Aepli from HSLU, participants can look forward to a varied program.
The event will begin with an overview of the Vienna real estate market – from historical developments to current investment trends. This will be followed by presentations on investments in Central and Eastern Europe, followed by a tour of the ERSTE Campus, including specialist presentations on facility and workplace management.
Experience Vienna: City Walks and Site Visits
A particular highlight was the guided retail tour through Vienna’s city center, which highlighted innovative retail concepts and urban development along central locations – from the State Opera to Mariahilfer Straße. Among other things, participants visited the Haus des Meeres, which is considered an example of creative revitalization.
On the second day, the focus was on legal and financial aspects of real estate development. Experts from Union Investment Real Estate Austria AG and ERSTE Immobilien KAG discussed current challenges in the areas of financing, regulation, and sustainability. The program was rounded off by several project visits, including Viertel Zwei in the 2nd district and Donau City, where modern urban development and innovative construction projects could be viewed firsthand.
The partnership between Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and FHWien der WKW underscores the value of international exchange and practice-oriented teaching.
