“Surveying the HR world” with Ralf Wallner

April 29, 2019

Another exciting evening from our guest lecture series in the elective subject HR Management was dedicated to personnel controlling and its increasing importance for companies.

For the first time, we were able to welcome Ralf Wallner, Senior Consultant in Human Capital at Deloitte, for a guest lecture on the subject of personnel controlling in our personnel management course. As a graduate of our Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Human Resources & Organization, Ralf Wallner knows about the current state of knowledge of our students and could optimally build on this in his guest lecture, providing targeted insights from his daily work on key figures and their benefits. He explains in a varied way which key personnel figures can be used for what purpose and how important it is to consider which data is of interest in each individual case.

In several case studies, Ralf Wallner shows how HR employees can contribute to the company’s success. Is our company already fit for digitization and how do I get our workforce to where I need them in the next few years? For questions like these, the right data and facts provide groundbreaking information for decisions.

He also reports on current trends, such as the use of artificial intelligence in an English company. Here, our students were still sceptical about what would really come out of it.  In a World Café exercise, our students put themselves in different company roles and considered which key figures are relevant and what expectations exist for personnel Controlling.
