On May 15, 2025, FHWien der WKW was transformed into a stage for fresh ideas and creative solutions: As part of the Event and Congress Management specialization, Bachelor’s students from the Tourism Management degree program presented their final projects. In three teams, they developed detailed concepts for mental health events in Vienna.
Practical coaching and professional support
The students received professional support throughout the semester: Michaela Schedlbauer-Zippusch, Managing Director of the Austrian Convention Bureau (ACB), Tarek Sharif, Managing Director of the event agency Mice & Men, and Klaus Vögl, a specialist in event law, were on hand to provide the groups with advice and support. This intensive coaching enabled the teams to raise their concepts to a professional level and develop practical solutions.
From the idea to the event: three teams, three visions
The students developed comprehensive event concepts in three groups. Nothing was left to chance: From the development of a catchy title and logo to a coherent corporate design, the selection of a suitable location and the elaboration of a detailed program – the concepts were convincing due to their complexity. Communication plans, budgeting and financing & sponsoring were also professionally developed. The result: three completely different, innovative approaches that creatively focus on the topic of mental health.
Direct feedback from industry professionals
The highlight of the final presentation was the high-caliber jury. Representatives from well-known companies and organizations – including Canon, WIENXTRA, SKY, Event & Rent and MICE & Men – scrutinized the concepts and provided valuable feedback. The students took the opportunity to present their ideas to real decision-makers and received direct, constructive feedback from the field.
With this experience under their belts, the students are ideally equipped to help shape the event and congress industry of tomorrow. Congratulations to everyone involved on this successful end to the semester!
