As part of the Competitiveness & Business Architecture courses, students enrolled in the Master’s Study Program in Financial Management & Controlling had the opportunity to gain practical experience working with Bloomberg terminals during their studies.
Bloomberg is one of the market-leading platforms for financial data, news, and analysis. Users have access to real-time information, such as companies and economic data. The terminals are used internationally in finance, business, public administration, and research.
A case study in the course was supplemented using Bloomberg terminals. After an introduction to how the terminals work, the students worked in teams to research information and data on selected topics, thereby familiarizing themselves with Bloomberg’s research and analysis functions. A particular added value of integrating Bloomberg terminals into the course is that relevant information is available quickly and can be incorporated directly into the discussion of the case study.
The integration of Bloomberg into teaching offers students practical insight into the use of databases and analysis tools that are highly relevant to their studies and careers.
