In early December 2025, students in the Real Estate Management Study Programs took the opportunity to get an up-close look at the world of real estate development as part of the “Meet the Developers” field trip. Our partner WINEGG opened the doors of its headquarters on Herrengasse in Vienna’s 1st district for the event.
Current Real Estate Market Trends
On site, the students met with Kevin Soemmer, Head of Construction Management at WINEGG Realitäten GmbH, and Hannes Speiser, Authorized Signatory at WINEGG Realitäten GmbH | Real Estate Development. In a relaxed and informal setting, an open discussion took place regarding current developments and key challenges in the residential real estate development market in Vienna.
The focus was particularly on rising construction costs, regulatory frameworks and the question of how quality, sustainability and cost-effectiveness can be reconciled. The students took the opportunity to discuss specific questions from their studies directly with experienced practitioners, thereby developing a deeper understanding of market dynamics.
The visit provided insights that are otherwise reserved for internal teams. At the same time, it became clear how important the dialogue between education and practice is for the development of future professionals.
