Students specializing in hotel management visited some of Vienna’s top hotels and gained valuable insights into management.
Furthering extensive theoretical input on hotel management, fourth and sixth semester students of our bachelor’s program tourism management were recently given the opportunity to experience exclusive hotel management first-hand.
Together with their lecturer Rico de Schepper, a former General Manager with more than 20 years experience in the international hotel industry, they visited Hotel Sacher, Vienna’s only family-owned five-star luxury hotel and member of Leading Hotels of the World. Hani El Shakawi, Director of the Sacher School of Excellence, shared insights into his working life as well as the organization of Vienna’s most famous hotel.
The second on-site visit was to the Vienna Marriott Hotel, a five-star hotel located directly on Vienna’s Ringstraße (photo on the left, © Stepanka Jurokova). Both events were fantastic opportunities for networking and to experience vibrant and international business operations in action.
