End of semester at “Haus des Reisens”

July 3, 2025

With the arrival of summer, another successful academic year is drawing to a close. To celebrate this occasion in style, the Tourism & Hospitality Management Study Programs invited its teaching staff to an atmospheric end-of-semester party. Many accepted the invitation to the newly renovated premises of our dual practice partner COLUMBUS Reisen: Ihr Haus des Reisens.

In a relaxed atmosphere, the evening not only provided an opportunity for personal exchange, but also to reflect on the past semester and discuss current developments in the field of study.

An evening for new impulses

After a warm welcome from Florian Aubke, Head of Tourism & Hospitality Management Study Programs, our external lecturers were given an insight into the day-to-day business of Austria’s oldest travel agency COLUMBUS Reisen. The hostess of the “Haus des Reisens” Nicole Glöckl told the history of the company and our dual students Lena Müllner and Magdalena Feurstein provided an overview of the individual business areas in which COLUMBUS Reisen is active.

This was followed directly by an exchange of experiences on the topic of “AI in teaching”. Best practices were presented and in an open discussion round, lecturers shared their experiences, challenges, and ideas on the use of artificial intelligence. The evening was rounded off with insights into current projects and events in the department in the coming academic year.

Afterwards, the evening ended with snacks and drinks. Discussions and networking took place in a relaxed atmosphere – a successful conclusion to an intensive semester.

The Tourism & Hospitality Management Study Programs would like to thank all lecturers for their commitment, expertise, and enthusiasm for teaching. We look forward to another successful academic year – with fresh ideas, new impulses and a continued shared passion for training the tourism professionals of tomorrow.
