Construction Site of the Future: Students visit the LeopoldQuartier

November 6, 2025

What might the future of living and working look like? Students studying Real Estate Management wanted to find out for themselves – and visited the construction site of the LeopoldQuartier in Vienna’s second district, not far from the Augarten park and the city center.

This innovative project by UBM Development will be one of Vienna’s first urban districts to focus entirely on sustainability – from energy supply to the choice of materials.

On site, UBM employees Anke Duchow and Daniel Vince gave the students a comprehensive insight into the planning, implementation, and special features of the project. The LeopoldQuartier combines modern living and working with a focus on energy efficiency, resource conservation, and sustainable construction. Wood hybrid construction, geothermal energy, and photovoltaics ensure a minimal carbon footprint.

The excursion offered the aspiring real estate experts valuable practical perspectives and showed how innovative real estate projects contribute to sustainable urban development.
