From June 11 to 13, 2025, the 14th International Conference of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society (FEBS) took place at Montpellier Business School in France.
Every year, the FEBS conference brings together academics, researchers and practitioners from all over the world to discuss current issues and developments in the fields of banking and finance. The conference offers a unique platform for international scientific exchange and networking with colleagues from different countries and disciplines.
Presentation of current research: “Bank Competition and Debt Financing of Multidivisional Firms”
Clemens Löffler, Academic Expert and Lecturer at the Competence Center for Business Controlling & Accounting at FHWien der WKW, presented the paper “Bank Competition and Debt Financing of Multidivisional Firms”, co-authored with Thomas Kaufmann-Lerchl and Christopher Liska, at the conference. The presentation met with great interest and provided an opportunity for intensive discussions with international colleagues. Participation in the FEBS made it possible to gain new perspectives on the topic of bank competition and corporate financing and to obtain valuable feedback for further research.
Networking with science and business
In addition to the academic presentations, the conference offered numerous opportunities to exchange ideas with entrepreneurs and practitioners. The discussions ranged from current challenges in the financial sector and innovative approaches in the field of financial engineering to questions of regulation and sustainability. The interdisciplinary dialog was particularly enriching, providing new impetus for our own research and teaching.
