Pitch for the best product launch campaign for Oral-B

June 12, 2023

Procter & Gamble commissioned students from the Bachelor’s program in Marketing & Sales to develop launch campaigns for the Oral-B iO electric toothbrush.

In a business field project with Procter & Gamble, the full-time students of the Bachelor’s program in Marketing & Sales at FHWien der WKW (6th semester) demonstrated their multifaceted expertise in simulating a product launch for the innovative Oral-B iO. The aim was to increase brand awareness and sales among a new target group. In addition to project management, the task included drafting a marketing strategy and defining suitable sales and PR activities. In addition, they were to incorporate the topic of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ensure a minimum margin. The six student teams were supported by project coaches Marina Prem and Hilda Helyes from FHWien der WKW, both professionally and on a personal level.

Enthusiasm at Procter & Gamble

By implementing the creative guiding concept, the students also developed imaginative slogans with recognition value, thereby interpreting the unique added value of the Oral-B iO in a different way in each case. In May, the pitch for the best concept took place in front of the P&G team Klaudia Zimmermann, Senior Key Account Manager for Oral Care & Braun and Hugo Grossgasteiger, Key Account Manager for Oral Care & Braun, who also studied at our University of Applied Sciences (Master’s degree in Communication Management). The results were impressive! The P&G team was enthusiastic about the results:

“We are impressed by the creativity, professionalism and commitment of FHWien der WKW students. Their strategic approaches and detailed planning for the launch of the Oral-B iO were of high quality and prove their talent in marketing and sales!”

Students pitch to the P&G Management Board

Of the total of six agency groups, the two best were invited to make a further presentation to the P&G Management Board. In addition, three students were personally invited by P&G to the “P&G Talent House” event to explore potential career opportunities.

Congratulations on this great completion of the business field project!
