In a business field project with neunerhaus, students in the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication at FHWien der WKW developed new approaches to fundraising.
Students in the part-time Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication (6th semester) at FHWien der WKW demonstrated what modern fundraising communication can look like through a business field project with the nonprofit organization neunerhaus, which supports homeless people in Vienna. Working in five teams during the summer semester of 2026, they developed communication concepts that convey social causes in a credible, understandable, and effective manner while building and strengthening relationships with potential and existing donors.
A Fresh Approach to Donor Communication
The results of the project highlight the many ways in which communication can be used to generate donations. From reaching new target groups and building trust to fostering long-term donor loyalty, the concepts provide inspiration for the further development of neunerhaus’s fundraising communications. Throughout the process, from the initial idea to the pitch, the students were supported by the coaches Leyla Tavernaro-Haidarian and Jakob Steiner on the part of FHWien der WKW.
Lena Stolz, Head of Fundraising at neunerhaus, expressed her delight at the results:
“The students presented a wide range of creative and strategically sound concepts. What’s particularly impressive is how thoroughly they’ve engaged with our organization and the current challenges we face in fundraising communications.”
This business field project highlights the importance placed on hands-on training at FHWien der WKW. Through close collaboration with companies and organizations, students have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world communication tasks.
