Admissions procedure MA Executive Management

Have you fulfilled the admissions requirements for a Master’s degree at FHWien der WKW? Then nothing is standing in your way to applying. The following application steps are waiting for you:

  1. The application period for winter semester 2020/2021 starts in January 2020.

  2. You will receive your personal login data via e-mail once you have registered. With the login data, you will have access to our online application form. This form should be printed out once you have filled it out.

  3. You will need various copies of documents as well as your printed and signed application form. You can find out which documents need to be filled out and what your letter of motivation should contain in the checklist for Master’s students.

    Applicants with a foreign degree must have their documents translated into German or English by a court certified translator. The relevant rules of certification for your country can be found here Beglaubigungsliste Hochschulwesen des BMBWF (in German). Determining the equivalence of certificates/degrees from foreign countries can take up to three weeks. For this reason we recommend that you send in the relevant documentation in a timely manner.

    Chinese applicants have the possibility to use the academic test center in Peking (APS Peking). All documents required for admissions can be authenticated there.     Applicants from Egypt should apply at the Austrian embassy in Cairo.

  4. Together with a printout of the application form, all application documents (loose, not stuck together in any way) should be sent by mail to:

    The postmark is used as proof of the date of mailing.

  5. Once we have received your documents, you will receive an e-mail requesting that you log in and choose a date for your test. The computer-based test lasts for approximately three hours. Please choose a date that suits you (test dates are offered on a first come – first served basis). For organizational reasons it is not possible to change the date of your test.

Computer-based admissions test

The computer-based admissions test takes place electronically and is multiple-choice. In the general (crossdisciplinary) part, your general business administration skills will be tested. The focus of the subject-specific part is on user-oriented business administration knowledge and understanding of management contexts. The test lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Depending on your prior business knowledge, we recommend the following literature to help you prepare for the admissions test:

  • Ebert, R.J., Griffin, R.W.: Business Essentials, Pearson, United Kingdom, 2012, 9th edition or newer edition
  • Drury, C.: Management Accounting for Business, Cengage Learning EMEA, United Kingdom, 2009, 4th edition or newer edition

It is not compulsory to read everything; they are just suggestions that you could use to prepare yourself with.

Degree program specific admissions procedure

For applicants who successfully complete the computer-based admissions test, we will invite you to a personal interview, so as to get to know you better. We would like to get to know you in the interview, but also within a group.

  • Your professional career path
  • Time management
  • Teamwork skills
  • Scientific skills and methods

Please expect to spend approximately two hours at FHWien der WKW (greeting, waiting etc.)
