The Ottakringer Brauerei looks back on a long and eventful history. Beer has been brewed here in accordance with the Vienna Purity Law since 1839. Today, the Ottakringer Brauerei is not only one of Austria’s best-known beer brands, but also a popular event venue.
On June 11, students in the Bachelor’s program in Tourism & Hospitality Management visited the Ottakringer Brauerei. The field trip took place as part of the “Event & Congress Design” specialization and offered exciting insights into one of Vienna’s most famous event venues.
Brewing and Celebrating in One Place
The students learned how the Ottakringer Brauerei is used not only for brewing but also as a venue for concerts, conferences, trade shows, and other events. They gained insight into the diverse tasks of event management and the organizational requirements behind the scenes.
During a guided tour of the various event areas, the participants familiarized themselves with the venue’s facilities and technical capabilities. The excursion provided a valuable opportunity to link course content with practical experience.
