Convention4u is the annual conference of the Austrian congress and meeting industry. This year, due to Covid19, it took place on July 7, 2020 as a hybrid conference for the first time ever. Creating our future together was the topic of the conference organized by the Austrian Convention Bureau (ACB). Members of the Austrian Convention Bureau as well as everybody interested in the Austrian congress and meeting industry met virtually to discuss current and future challenges and to share experiences.

Whereas Gerhard Stübe, president of the Austrian Convention Bureau, Petra Stolba, CEO Austrian National Tourist Office, Georg Geczek, Head of Competence Center Event Safety, Vienna Red Cross as well as Lukas Zenk, network and innovation researcher discussed current challenges of the Austrian congress and meeting industry live at STEINERLIVE.com

The University of Applied Sciences for Management and Communication was represented at  the virtual exhibition by the Head of Tourism & Hospitality Management Study Programs, Florian Aubke and Academic Coordinator Daniela Wagner. Together with the lecturers Christian Mutschlechner and Sarah Staudinger they discussed different questions about Bachelor’s and Master’s theses, job opportunities within the congress and meeting industry as well as internships.

In addition, students of the elective congress management from the Bachelor’s program in Tourism Management did have the opportunity to participate in the conference. They got in contact with experts of the congress and meeting industry, shared their experiences and discussed future options.
