In October our graduate Verena Ziegler returned to FHWien der WKW as a guest lecturer. She introduced the students of our Bachelor’s program in Finance, Accounting & Taxation to practical applications of VAT.
Verena Ziegler, BA, MA not only successfully completed the same degree program as her listeners, but also passed her Bachelor’s examination with distinction. She then started her career at the international tax consultancy firm Mazars.
The topic of her presentation were current cases in the field of VAT. Mrs Ziegler presented some of the cases she has successfully dealt with, such as own use of cars or input tax deduction for services. What made the lecture particularly exciting were the quiz questions that Mrs Ziegler interspersed in between. The students had to judge whether the issues discussed were taxable and what the consequences were.
The guest lecture was one of the highlights of the winter semester 23/24. The students were not only able to benefit from the practical experience of the lecturer, but also expand their knowledge of VAT.
