Side visits, discussions, jury member – the expertise of Endowed Professor Anna-Vera Deinhammer is in demand!

December 21, 2023

Anna-Vera Deinhammer has been an Endowed Professor for Sustainable Real Estate Development in the construction and property industry since June 2023. She is also active in the World Green Building Council on behalf of the ÖGNI (Austrian Society for Sustainable Real Estate Development) and Vice President “Director for Circular Cities and Regions” of the Circular Economy Forum Austria. The expertise of the integral engineering scientist is in great demand, as her participation in numerous events in recent weeks proves. We present a selection of these.

Drees and Sommer side inspection 2023:  DIFFERENT. SUCCESSFUL. GROW – HOW DOES TRANSFORMATION SUCCEED IN TURBULENT TIMES?

In cooperation with ÖGNI, the Future Anchor and the Circular Economy Forum Austria, the endowed professor once again organized the themed trip to Vienna. This year’s themed dialogue in the former Ankerbrotfabrik was held under the motto “Urbanity. Circularity. Productivity – the city of tomorrow”. The focus was on visionary perspectives in neighbourhood development and overcoming the separation between new construction and renovation in favour of urban revitalisation. The endowed professor strengthened the opening panel with her expertise and moderated the breakout session she organised on the topic of “AI for ESG”.

Deinhammer designed and organized the pre-event program together with the architecture firm BFAxKLK and the developer/operator of energy supply systems beyond carbon energy. After the practical and encouraging presentation on the CO2-free heating and cooling supply of the revitalised stands of the Krieau harness racing track, which is a listed building, an architectural tour of Viertel Zwei took place, during which insights from the development and planning phase of the area were shared. Due to the high level of interest, the guests completed this program in three groups, which were brought together again for the joint conclusion in the Startup House.

Discussion in Berlin

The construction and property industry is undergoing a transformative change that is accompanied by a multitude of challenges and opportunities – these were explained in detail at the Circular Design, Building and Construction Summit in Berlin. The conference days centred around two questions: “What, how, when, why and where do we want to develop, plan, build and operate in the future?”, “And which products, materials, processes and qualities should be used?”. It is precisely these challenges that are part of Deinhammer’s research remit, and she spoke about them during the expert talk “The City of Tomorrow – Urban Transformation” and recorded an episode of the Summit podcast on site.

Jury member of the Superscape 2024 architectural concept award

The submission period for the Superscape Award 2024 began at the start of October with a launch event at The Leo Grand hotel, organized by Lenikus Immobilien and WBV-GPA. Deinhammer is one of three jury members and was interviewed by Tarek Leitner during a panel discussion together with her fellow jury member Thomas Romm and Claudius Schulze, Artistic Director of the Vienna Climate Biennale. This time, the prestigious architecture prize will be awarded on the theme of “FORM FOLLOWS ENVIRONMENT – Regenerative Architecture”. The jury will select and announce the winner in summer 2024.

FHWien der WKW expertise in a double pack at PoEM 2023 The Practice of Enterprise Modelling – Conference at TU Wien, Business Informatics

Deinhammer gave the keynote speech “The Butterfly Potential: The DNA of the transformation to a regenerative Circular Economy is a Quadruple Helix” at the international PoEM conference on business modelling at TU Wien and discussed the current challenges of different sectors and the importance of interdisciplinary knowledge exchange with industry colleagues on the panel “Enterprise Modelling for Sustainable and Circular Construction”. Clemens Löffler, Senior Researcher at the Institute for Digital Transformation and Strategy, was also a panellist and gave the keynote speech “A Returnable Transport Item to Integrate Logistics 4.0 and Circular Economy in Pharma Supply Chains”, i.e. expertise power in a double pack from FHWien der WKW.

Anna-Vera Deinhammer already has a lot of collaborations and events planned for 2024, as the expert in sustainable real estate development is a sought-after guest and speaker.
