In early June, students from the Real Estate Management Study Programs visited Westfield Shopping City Süd (SCS), Austria’s largest shopping center. With approximately 198,500 m² of leasable space, more than 330 stores, and around 60 restaurants, SCS is one of the country’s most important retail destinations.
A particular highlight was the project presentation and guided tour led by Zsolt Juhasz, General Manager of Westfield Shopping City Süd (SCS) and a graduate of the Master’s program in Real Estate Management. During the tour, the students gained insights into the development and management of the center, as well as key business metrics and leasing strategies.
Other key topics included the ongoing modernization of the site, the use of solar power, the requirements of the EU taxonomy and SCS’s ESG strategy. Particular emphasis was placed on the center’s transformation into a net-zero property.
During the subsequent tour, students were able to experience the presented concepts firsthand and gain valuable insights into the practical aspects of shopping center management.
