During an Alumni Homecoming event hosted by the Financial Management Study Programs in April 2026, it became clear once again what binds graduates to their former program: personal encounters, shared memories and a keen interest in current developments.
Even years after graduation, many alumni continue to closely follow the study program’s progress. In addition to reflecting on their time as students, courses and influential lecturers, the focus was also on current innovations.
Head of Study Programs Thomas Kaufmann-Lerchl and Academic Expert & Lecturer Katja Heinzlmaier provided exciting insights into topics such as distance learning, the use of AI in teaching and modern tools in the financial sector, such as Bloomberg terminals for students. These developments demonstrate how the Financial Management Study Programs responds to new demands in professional practice and integrates them into its curriculum.
Homecoming: a warm welcome back at FHWien
Thanks to the organization and planning by Sabine Lackner and Doris Haas from Alumni & Career Services, as well as the support from Gabriele Fila from the marketing team, the Alumni Homecoming was a successful evening of reunions. During the discussions, it became clear just how strong the connection many graduates still feel to their field of study remains, even years after graduation. The Alumni Homecoming event provided an opportunity for personal conversations, new ideas and the cultivation of a network that endures long after graduation.
We thank all participants for the wonderful evening and the lively reunion, and we look forward to further encounters with our alumni.
