Stefan Kappacher (Head of Ö1-Mediamagazine #doublecheck) was guest speaker on October 21st, 2019 at the third Public Value Lecture organized by the Study area “Journalism & Media Management”

The leading issue this time was „Trust in (Austrian) Media coverage“. Especially since the last National Council elections, many media users were searching for a trustworthy source of information to make a reasoned decision for their vote. With great involvement amongst the participants of the third Public Value Lecture, the guests, Stefan Kappacher and Konrad Mitschka (ORF Public Value Competence center) discussed questions like: Which are trustworthy media offerings and which are not? How can recipients find their way through the mass of media offerings and where can they find some orientation? What about the highly aimed and often stressed need for Media literacy? Last but not least: What is the relevance of Public Service Media in this respect?

During this week (October 23rd – 25th, 2019) the „Media Literacy Awards“ and various events with relation to Media Literacy take place in DSCHUNGEL theatre at MQ Vienna, please find further information here.
