The award for journalists in training

The Journalism Young Talent Award of FHWien der WKW will be presented for the eighth in 2026. The award aims to support aspiring journalists at the start of their careers and offers them a platform to present themselves to the industry and a wider audience.

The prize is awarded in the following categories:

  • Radio & Audio
    sponsored by ORF
  • TV & Video
    sponsored by ORF
  • Text
    sponsored by DER STANDARD
  • Multimedia
    sponsored by Kurier
  • Best Thesis
    sponsored by FHWien der WKW

A prize of EUR 500 will be awarded in each category. In addition, the Austrian Media Academy (ÖMA) will provide the winner of the category “Best Thesis” with a place in a seminar of their choice.

All submitted works will be evaluated by an expert jury consisting, for each category, of two industry representatives as well as the respective heads of department of FHWien der WKW.

Following the award ceremony, we invite you to a champagne reception to celebrate the winners of the evening. For planning purposes, we kindly ask you to register in advance.
