“I had the perfect semester and I loved going to university.” (Student from Belgium)

168 incoming students studied at FHWien der WKW during the 2025/26 winter semester and provided us with feedback at the end of their stay.

Positive feedback on courses, staff and Vienna

  • The practice-oriented courses,
  • the dedicated lecturers
  • and the international atmosphere at the university

were particularly frequently highlighted. Many described their semester as “unique”, “enriching” and even “life-changing”. The decisive factor was not only the quality of teaching but also the feeling of being welcome.

Courses in the fields of marketing, digital business and journalism were very well received. The strong practical focus and the modern design of the courses were particularly praised. The following courses were mentioned most frequently: Business Simulation, Digital Business Models, International Journalism and Storytelling, International Sports Marketing and the German language courses. Many students also emphasized that they were able to gain valuable insights into the Austrian and international economies.

Vienna itself also impressed many incoming students. The city was perceived as livable, safe and culturally diverse. They particularly appreciated the opportunity to explore Europe from Vienna. Many students also reported that they quickly made connections and were able to form close friendships.

The CIEM/IStA team received very positive feedback. Students felt well supported and highlighted the straightforward, friendly communication. Comments such as “Thank you for this amazing semester.” “I felt very comfortable at your university.” and “Thank you for welcoming me so warmly.” demonstrate just how at home many exchange students felt at FHWien der WKW.

Valuable suggestions for the future

In addition to the positive feedback, there were also valuable suggestions: students requested even more courses in English, additional interactive formats and more opportunities to interact with Austrian students. This feedback provides important insights for the further development of our international offerings.

The numerous positive experiences show that FHWien der WKW offers international students not only high-quality academic content but also an environment that inspires, connects and leaves a lasting impression. Or, as one student aptly put it: “I absolutely loved my time in Vienna and at FHWien der WKW.”
