International education and mobility

The Center for International Education & Mobility at the FHWien University of Applied Sciences of WKW (CIEM) bundles our international education and mobility operations in a single department.

The CIEM offers the following:

• International education and mobility [2]: opportunities for students to gain international experience (semester abroad, summer session, etc.)
• Languages [3]:- comprehensive course offerings in the Foreign Languages Department
• International management [4]: courses held by the Cross Cultural Management Department (predominantly in English)

Objectives

In line with FHWien's mission statement, CIEM pursues the following objectives:

• to give students the best possible preparation for the demands of the international job market
• to respond to the demands of the business world and education quickly and flexibly, and to ensure innovative, forward-looking instruction
• to leverage synergies in the reorganisation of the Foreign Languages and International Management Departments, and to ensure the quality of instruction in line with the Bologna Process
• to enable students and instructors at the FHWien University of Applied Sciences of WKW to participate in high-level intercultural exchanges among specialists in an international context
• to equip students at the FHWien University of Applied Sciences of WKW with sound intercultural and foreign language skills
• to promote intercultural understanding in the programmes at the FHWien University of Applied Sciences of WKW.
