FHWien University of Applied Sciences of WKW Library

The library of the FHW University of Applied Sciences of WKW has been presenting itself in a new light since November 5th, 2007.  In addition to the new library building, the expansion of the service offerings is ongoing.

Over a space of approximately 350 square meters, we offer our library guests

• 32 individual reading stations with electricity supply for laptops
• 6 PC work stations
• Search PC
• A Multi-functional device (Copy and scanning)
• WLAN Connection
• Access to data banks
• Open stacks
• Magazines, newspapers
• A comfortable lounge area
• A reading gallery
• A reading garden (May 2008)

The library of the FHW University of Applied Sciences of WKW has been a member of the Austrian Library Group since 2007 and is a public and scientific library.  Primarily, vocational training, education and research should be made possible at the highest level.

The open stack area can present approximately 240 running meters of shelf space of the library’s inventory.  Theses and technical journals are archived and can be made available on request.

The entire library collection will be catalogued and secured with the modern RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification).  Besides the contact free identification and object localization, the RFID can also acquire and store the data.
